God gave me this right to eat meat.
24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
   in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food. And all animals above the land, on the land and in the sea will be your food.” And it was so.

Hey zame33a, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I've always been of the opinion that one of the best things about being human is the gift of free will.

And we are very fortunate (in this country at least) that we have the freedom to make our own choices, wouldn't you agree? And I've always been of the opinion that kindness is an intrinsic human quality – hence the word humane. Would you also agree that when we can make kind choices for others that's a worthwhile thing to do?

Something that started my journey towards helping animals was learning about the way that animals in factory farms are treated. I was shocked when I discovered that these methods of intensive farming deny animals the freedom to express any of the behaviours they would naturally want to express. What are your thoughts on factory farming? http://www.makeitpossible.com/facts/what-is-factory-farming.php

Like I said, existence is cruel. I'm not gonna anthropomorphize or say things like plants are also living beings. Because we already know that it is.

Vegan food are also living beings, why does it matter if the organism has a nose similar to ours? Do they not deserve a life?

Wow ............Just wow.

I have heard Vegans say ignorant and spiritually shallow people to this day use ridiculous religious arguments to justify their appalling and heathen attitudes and behaviors towards animals as their terribly mind controlled and brain washed point of perception allows for nothing else.

I find it very very sad for these people because firstly their health suffers, and due to this dogma and indoctrination their are actually those out there that believe this nonsensical and delusional madness........( No really, they really do; and not only is it moronic, it is scary. obviously, especially for the non humans) and therefore their mental health also suffers.

I would challenge any decent person to check out the kill counter on www.adaptt.org/ and say hello to your new at least vegetarian, if not 100 % vegan life and start reaping the spiritual, emotional, and health benefits for doing what is right.

(remember I did state decent..and i suppose you also need the ability to think for yourself.)

You're preaching to the choir.

We know all this already and heartily agree, but how are we going to get the message across to those who can effect change? I think we hav a fair way to go yet before we are really 'mainstream'.
It's still difficult to get a Vegan meal in a restaurant
Me: Do you have a Vegan option?
Waiter: Certainly Sir, We have chicken or fish

i swear to God, I'm going to strangle a waiter one of these days.
if everyone is vegan/vegitarian then this would not be a problem
