One does not exist w/o the other. Simply, you either love something or hate something but you can also be somewhere in-between. Both love and hate are passionate words.

Well technically they are just chemical imbalances in the brain... but I don't necessarily believe thats all there is to it. Perhaps they are the same, but with different content? An interesting question! I will have to ponder!
