The sea is stained in red and it's not because of the climate effects of nature.
It's because of the cruelty that human beings (civilised human?)are killing hundreds of the famous and intelligent Calderon dolphins.
This happens every year in Feroe Island in Denmark . In this slaughter the main participants are young teens.

WHY?

A celebration, to show that they are adults and mature!

In this big celebration, no one is missing for the fun. Everyone is participating in one way or the other, killing or looking at the cruelty "supporting like a spectator".
They don't die instantly, they are cut 1, 2 or 3 times with thick hooks. And at that time the dolphins produce a grim cry like that of a new born child.
But he suffers, and there is no compassion, while this magnificent creature slowly dies in its own blood.

I can't find a petition but I'm sure somebody on here is smart enough to start one up?

While the Faroe Islands was once governed by Denmark, these days it essentially governs itself, and getting angry with Denmark is not going to really help these animals sad

I'm Danish -- and like all other Danes I know, this sickens me to the core. But what can we do about it?

It's best to direct any action DIRECTLY towards the Faroe Islands themselves. Write to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs:

Minister of Foreign Affairs
J�rgen Niclasen

It's also worth writing to the Faroe Islands Tourist Board at to let them know that you and your family won't ever visit the Faroe Islands whilst they support the killing of whales and dolphins.
