Hi Guys,

I was thinking of ideas for fundraising to help raise donations to keep those factory farming commercials on tv and the radio etc and I was also trying to find a way to connect like minded people and help educate other people.
I had the idea of hosting Cruelty Free BBQs. It could be private parties or a big public event, but the idea is the same. There could be a selection of both vegan and vegetarian foods available with fliers and information about factory farming and becoming vegetarian.
Could raise funds by having a gold coin participation fee and a seperate donation box for people who want to give more. Or charge 5 to 10 dollars to cover food costs.
If it were going to be an open event it would be great to have stalls or donated goods by businesses who support the cause. If people held private parties it would just be a nice time with friends both veg*n and not.

I don't know if there is anything like this around already but it's a rough idea that I think could be worked on. happy I think I will do something similar to this with my friends and try and get a nice little donation sent in. (Maybe they will even like some of my veg dishes and cook them themselves and also think a bit more about what they are purchasing when in the supermarket too!)

Anyone have any other ideas like this?  rabbit

This is a little off topic, but the organisation in the link below, will refund all your costs if you want to give away *free* vegan food as a way to promote veganism. So you couldn't use this to raise funds, but you may wish to try this as a starting point in your activism.

(And yes, they will fund groups outside the USA). Note: to give out food in public you will need a food handling certificate, etc.

I have a friend who also wants to start doing these 'feedouts', please get in touch if you decide to go ahead with this, and I'll pass on your details.

That sounds like a great idea. In perth at P.A.W.S they have pay by donation vegan food, and a few restaurants which do vegan food, if you like the meal you ate, and you ask the restaurant, they will happily give you the recipes!
I think alot of people have an oversion to the vegan lifestyle because they're scared of only being able to eat lettuce for the rest of their lives. Having a vegan bbq benefit can definately prove that there's more to eat than lettuce and carrots! Maybe use alot of mock meats, do kebabs and stuff, even felafels in a hommus/tzatziki sauce. And maybe even make recipes available for the foods, so that if people enjoy them they can keep making them at home happy

Sounds great!
