The growth of wealth in Asian countries, with the growth of eating meat running parallel to it. That to me is the biggest problem I can foresee. Also, the fact that most of the animal movement is oblivious to this growth and the danger of us moving backwards... is quite scary.

The biggest problem right now though? I'd say factory farming. Just the fact that cruelty can be so industrialized, and so many animals can be killed is beyond amazing... just thinking about it STILL makes me speechless.

***I'm wondering though - on a more positive note... what is the problem people can see us overcoming in the future. What will be our major accomplishments to look back on in years to come?***

Its not any singular act of cruelty, or a particular industry, its the fact that cruelty occurs to begin with is the issue. Which is more or less, in my eyes, is pretty irrelevant, as heartless as that might sound.
Martin Luther King:

"Injustice anywhere, is a threat to justice everywhere."

So, so, so true.

Buy my said problem with Asia is somethign really hidnering that.

While, for example seal fur, has been banned in the USA, EU and parts of even South America... Asia continues to provide a massive, MASSIVE market for it.

I'm hoping vivisection in schools is the first to go, and more and more people are saying no to it! Plus, there's always those kids who just can't stomach it.
(in vet school, I have different opinions, but I wish they would contract to local vets and take already euthanaised animals)
