Faux fur formal school hats

At a lot of schools, the school 'formal' hat is made out of fur! Like at mine - the boy's hat is made of fur and leather (luckily, the girls is made of a straw-like material). People are always saying that it's horrible that the hat is made of fur, so I'm trying to have it changed. First, though, I need to find a good alternative, and use it as an example to demonstrate to the school that fur is not necessary in this day and age.

Does anyone know of a faux fur ideal for hats, or know a company that makes such synthetics, or even knows of a school's formal school hat that isn't made of fur? Any information or leads would be massively appreciated! Thankyou  chick

OMG fur and leather formal hats?! What kinda school do you go to?!

Spotlight have their fake fur materials. Who makes your formal hats? Perhaps you can talk to them about it?

Good luck with this!

wow and i thought i went to an old fashion school
thats disgusting
here is what i would do

1. create a petition and get it signed until you think u have got a good argument
2. ask for a meeting with the supplier or uniform shop
3. look for alternatives, get samples, prices and the pros of such fabric 9eg price, crcuelty free etc
4. ask orgs for anti fur leaflets and create a mini student protest with everyone say refusing to wear the hats happy

Hope this helps  furious huh idea

If enough people are against it then surely the school board could change their mind. You could also urge them to do so because faux fur would evidently be cheaper, saving the school money, etc, etc.
Faux fur can be bought from any ol' spotlight store, by the metre, and can also be purchased from fabric stores online.
