The barbarity of human-beings is laid bare, our cruel ignorance to the mass suffering of animals can not be hidden any longer, this movie shows us exactly what our society has become! At a minimum, you deserve to know what this argument is about?
In the late 1930′s a nation was convinced by their government that racism was right, that slaughtering millions of their fellow countrymen would bring them glory and power. But now that we have seen the pictures and heard the stories you can to jail just for denying that the Holocaust happened.
Why do we now trust our governments when they deny the suffering of millions of animals for profit. You owe it to yourself to watch this movie.
I watched it once, and then bought the DVD. Not because I'm a sick creep that enjoys seeing these kinds of things, I just thought that it would be an easier way of letting my family know why I've made the choice to become a vegan.
I posted it and one person watched it.... they also re posted it!!! I doubt they will give up but even if people cut down and buy more "humanely" its still an improvement
Please encourage all your friends & family to watch this!! I've now had 6 friends/family members go veg as a result of sitting down & watching this with me. It's good to watch it with them so you can answer any questions & offer suggestions on how easy going veg is!
Am I the only one who hasn't watched Earthlings?
I can't bring myself to do it, no way in hell.
I work with a couple of guys that have worked in abattoirs and one guy that worked exclusively with Chickens.
One of the abattoir guys said that his first job on his first day was to hit booby calves in the soft spot of their heads... With a hammer. Apparently if you can do that, you can do anything they ask you.
I asked him if it was ever gross or horrific for him, he said that the only thing that upset him was slicing a cow down the belly while it was hanging up and hitting a cyst, he was covered in pus instantly. Pus is gross, sure, but really? Nothing else got to him?
He totally lied, he was vegetarian for a long time after that.
The other guy has horrible stories about live exports and killing animals so they're halal/kosher/whatever.
The chicken guy just said his job wasn't too bad as long as he was rostered to work in the other side, where they just prepare kievs and kebabs, so he was working with "meat" and not animals.
As he was telling me this I asked if he knew I was vegan, he said he could completely understand.
Just hearing about this sort of thing I cry, want to vomit and have to stop them.
I commend those of you who have seen it, but I'm interested to hear if anyone else hasn't.
Ugh. I showed this to my best friend.
He was pretty horrified.
He still eats meat.
He even used the weakest excuse of all "It's heartbreaking and I hate that this happens, but I just like the taste of meat too much."
-_-' I don't understand that mentality. It makes me so frustrated and angry.
