Ugh. I showed this to my best friend.
He was pretty horrified.
He still eats meat.
He even used the weakest excuse of all "It's heartbreaking and I hate that this happens, but I just like the taste of meat too much."
-_-' I don't understand that mentality. It makes me so frustrated and angry.
I hate it when people use that excuse. I just want to say "You musn't be a very strong-willed person or have any self control if you continue to support the industry of slaughter purely for a few minutes of taste." It really frustrates me that they KNOW how horrible it is, and they hate it, but they still continue to support it.

If only they knew the difference they would make if they did stop supporting it...
every 'I.T/MEDIA' lesson i had i watched this with a friend in school. Each lesson we would just go to where we paused it last. We were able to watch it when claiming that it helped us with our animal cruelty project. So basically i cried in class 3 or 4 times?
People say 'why are you even watching this sf its so horrible' WHY? because whilst its horrid to watch, you NEED to watch it to be fully aware of what is going on. Watching the movie puts you on a far more personal level with the matter.
Earthlings is a great 'eye-opener' movie/documentary. If you haven't see it already I suggest you do; it's the least you can do to gain some understanding about animal cruelty and the massive scale of killing that's been done to one of our 'fellow Earthling'.
*Spoiler alert*
The most impacting part of the film was where they were talking about the fur/leather industry and you saw this poor animal being stripped of it's skin while it's still fully conscious and when they go to view the stripped animals pile, you see close up that one of them is still moving around, it looks at the stripped skin next to it and the way it looks into the camera …

Do yourself a favour, watch Earthlings.
Yeah, that's one of the images that stayed stuck in my mind. So sad.
Very intense movie. I only saw it about 2 years after I went vegan. You are just horrified at the way people can just treat animals as something for profit and not as a living creature.
The film is stuff of nightmares, but unfortunately it is real and happening
I've still only managed to get a short way into Earthlings! I made the mistake of watching it while my girls were awake and playing in the lounge and they got really upset seeing me get so hysterical and crying while watching it!
I'll need to finish watching it in the evening when they are in bed... but I think I'll have to watch it in parts because it is just too full on for one sitting!
After the part with the dog being thrown into the garbage truck I just sat on the floor and bawled my eyes out and hugged my dog, promising her I would never, EVER let anything happen to her!

I've also been watching it in parts.. Each session of about 7-10 minutes results in a lot of crying, swearing and generally hating on humanity. But I think it's important for me to watch it all so that I have a greater understanding of what goes on, and so that my passion for veganism only strengthens.
