Yeah. I saw the whole thing when I was 12. I struggled to watch it, but I don't regret it. I think everyone should be forced to watch it. No matter how emotional or distressed they become, everyone should see it. People can't keep hiding behind closed doors in their cosy worlds - they need to face reality, and sometimes that means going out of your comfort zone.

Earthlings, in my opinion, is the most blunt, hard-hitting, violent, yet accurate, comprehensive, persuasive film I've ever seen. It's like a walk-through of how today's mass human use of animals affects our health, the environment (and contributes to global warming), and the bloody cruelty that we inflict on animals.

For those who haven't seen it yet - no matter how uncomfortable you feel when you watch the animal cruelty part, remember that it's the animals who are feeling the most pain and suffering every day, and that they need our help.

We should go to coles and woolworths and show people on our laptops.

I was thinking of buying bulk Earthlings copies i.e 200-300 or so and setting up a stall outside of Coles or Woolies and handing out free copies with reasons why you should watch it.

Only problem is coles or woolies wouldnt allow anything that may threaten the meat industry.

I just watched part of the earthlings video and literally could not watch anymore. I feel ashamed of being part of the human race. We all inhabit this earth, but somehow have demanded ourselves superior to any other race. Treat animals like they have no feeling, thoughts or emotion. Like they are objects, things that are worth less than our love, loyalty and respect.
I am so very grateful to everyone who is part of an animal activist group the world over for speaking up about this intolerable and unthinkable torture our beautiful friends go through every second. I don't think those videos and images will ever escape my mind.
It is my hope that one day (hopefully one day very soon) that the human race will come to their senses and realise that animals have feelings and are capable of emotion and love just like us.
I know for my part, I will do everything possible to help those who have no voice, who can't speak up for themselves.
Animals deserve equality, justice, respect and love. It will happen. One day. x

(Sorry if this earthlings video was already a post, I did look and couldn't find it anywhere x)

I have a friend who couldn't watch very much of it. I got through the whole thing, but after watching the part about fur I just cried every time I looked at my dog for about a month. I've banned everyone else in my family from watching it because they're all a bit more sensitive than me and I just worry how it would affect them.

I mean, they're all ovo-vegetarian, palm oil avoiding no-animal-products people anyway, I don't see the sense in torturing them any more. It's a great tool for people who are resisting believing the facts you're telling them though, people usually believe video footage. My friend who first showed it to me has turned vegan now as far as I know...  happy

But yeah, once I got past the OMG HOW IS ALL THIS SHIT ALLOWED WHAT THE F**K IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!!! feelings, it really gave me a lot of hope because it just made me feel reassured that one day we will have a worldwide cultural evolution against this. Probably not in my lifetime though sad

Niekard, it's worth watching. It is a really brutal film, but I think it definitely helps you to realise that what we do as vegetarians and vegans is needed to really make a difference.

To be honest, I only got 15 minutes in. I have always cried at the drop of a hat when it comes to animals & my man has banned me from watching anymore of it after seeing how bad I took it. I am just continuing to educate myself through research instead of watching, though I have been recommending my carnivorous friends and family to watch it if they have any questions or contemplating going vego. It just breaks my heart knowing what is happening to these beautiful creatures every second. I hate feeling so powerless. It's overwhelming sometimes. sad
