I just made my boyfriend watch the trailor for me and tell me some things. He knows how badly i hurt for animals and wouldn't even tell me anything, he said i would be too disturbed. I have posted onto my facebook though for meat eaters to watch, lets hope they do!
Have I watched a different trailer to everyone else? Everyone keeps saying it is horrible but from what I recall it was just footage of animals running around, trees blowing in the wind and stupid things that humans have caused. Just emphasising the whole animals, nature, humankind thing. It was sad but it wasn't really graphic, was it?
I've seen that one too. Go here http://www.earthlings.com/ and click 'View Trailer'. This is the horrible one.
After reading about what you have guys have said here I decided to watch it anyway. I have watched other similar clips but have to switch them off as I couldn't handle it. So I know about farming for food, however, I knew very little about pet farms and the clothing industry so I watched it... I was crying all the way though. I'm glad everyone in my house sleeps on the other side of the house because for a moment there all I could yell was "You ******* cowards!!"
The footage in it is old in places, but that doesn't mean it isn't still happening behind closed doors.. which the recent live trade export has shown us..
So yea... it has given me the backbone though to actually stand up and speak out about it though. So it was worth my time to watch it.
I tried to get my other half to watch it, the convo went like this,
Me: would you watch it just because it's something I'm passionate about
Him: But you don't watch stuff I'm passionate about
Me: that's because you're not actually passionate about anything...
Him: Sure I am, I'm very passionate about UFC
I made myself watch this doco when I first chose to go veg 7 months ago, it is POWERFUL! Its the only film I have ever cried during, and that was about 5 minutes in. I can still see the image of the skinned baby seal still alive. So heartbreaking and makes me so sick to call myself a human when this is what our species does to others that we share this planet with I can only hope we can leave a big enough footprint that future generations choose to lead a more compassionate existence
I am so glad I am a vegetarian! That is the most disturbing movie I have ever seen and I only watched the trailer. It should be made part of compulsory school curriculum. If it was maybe the next generation wouldn't be as bad as this.
I am ashamed to be human.
