Brushtail Possums are the subject of a proposal for commercial export to China. Around 100,000 per year are planned to be trapped and trucked to slaughter at an abattoir, then sent to China for meat and fur.
In The Mercury [Hobart daily newspaper] 'Street Talk' today 5 out of 6 young people spoken to agreed with abattoir killing of possums. The public clearly needs an education. Write a letter to the The Mercury () and help create a Hot Topic, and raise your voice for the possums. Write to daily papers around the country too. Let's get this issue into the mainstream.
