I save animals every day - being vegan does that wink

But on a serious note - I help save the lives of animals every w/e when I volunteer at a wildlife rehab center.

And I have helped convert one person to vegetarianism, currently on his way to veganism, and possibly in the middle of converting someone to vegetarianism.... need to ask how that's going actually....

I have saved three horses from colic, but identifying it and calling the vet. Once I had to sleep out in the stables to make sure the horse was okay, and thankfully he was happy
I have also cut a horse free from a barbed wire fence. One of the colts got tangled in the barbed wire fences on the next door neighbors property (WHY IS THERE BARBED WIRE AROUND THE HORSES?!?)
It is one of the best feelings, but also one of the worst if you cant save the animal and have to consent for it to be put down sad
Hopefully by the end of the year I will be getting a cat from the RSPCA happy

I saved a meat fowl from the mouth of a cattle dog,  my boss said it was dead and to put it out of it's misery by putting it in the freezer (it looked pretty gone) But I set it up in a nice quiet corver with some comfy hay and food (had to force feed it water for a while) and eventually she came good, and used to follow me around the yard all day while I caught her grasshoppers. She was one of the best friends I ever had!

I was watching a group of fisherman all afternoon catching thousands of mullet in a huge net.

I stayed till it got dark and they left the nets and went home. The problem for them was that the nets still had mullet in them as they didnt have enough room in the ice bins.

Unluckily I stumbled down and 'tripped' on the ropes holding the nets in place. Poor fisherman must have done some incredibly loose knots, as when they returned in the morning there would have been a grand total of "Zero" mullet in the net!

haha, but shh  innocent

Quite a few birds that are injured. But the ones I remember most..

when I was about 9 I took a baby curlew that was sperated from its family by a rather large fence.. It was being eaten alive by ants (like almost covered in them) in the school yard. So I wrapped it up in my jumper and took it home. Mum was angry with me so we just took it to a vet...

I dont know how old I was for this.. still a child tho. Dad and I were driving somewhere. Dont know why we pulled over, or if dad could hear something. But we found a baby pheasant with a broken leg. We had to take it to a bunch of places to find out what it was exactly. But we kept him, and had to force feed him cos he was a baby. And dad would take him everywhere, and he would just sit on his shoulder. We taught him how to catch his own food and everything, And when he was ready we let him go. And he would come visit every once in a while, even came over with little babies once happy

And the most recent was a baby rainbow lorikeet was out flying with its parents and siblings, I guess they were just learning to fly cos its wings were still quite short. It must have gotten tired and left behind. It was sitting on a fence, and fell into the yard next door. The dog next door attacked it, and I screamed cos I freak out really easy when it comes to animals. So my big brother haha ( im 21 and still call him my big brother) jumped the fence and saved it. hahaha he got biten by the bird pretty bad. We put it in a cage because it was getting dark. We gave it was fruit and water. And figured that was all we could do for him for the night. He would have died or been killed by something if we didnt put him in a cage.

Then the next morning we were up at around 4:30/5 cos we were going somewhere. And the parents were sitting in a tree in our front yard. So we moved the cage where they could see it. The top of the cage folded out so we opened it. The parents flew over and the little one flew out to them, and they all flew off. And then a few mins later one of the parents came back sat in our tree and just looked at us and flew off again.. haha it was cute.

That's a beautiful story. I had a similar experience. My neighbour has a Blueberry farm and all the bushes are under netting, so it becomes a big "enclosure" when birds fly in and can't find their way out again. I've guided plenty of birds to where they can escape, but one particular raven-type bird proved very difficult. He was exhausted and panicing. I kept trying to herd him out, but he didn't quite get it. He got himself stuck in a corner against a solid wall, and somehow I managed to get my hands around him and carry him out. He flew off a short distance, but shortly after perched himself nearby, looking at me as if to say "thank you"

My mum and I have saved numerous birds over the years. When I was a kid I jumped a fence into a thorny bush to rescue a pidgeon that was about to be eaten by a dog.

I almost rode over a little blue lump in the middle of the road that turned out to be a young budgie, I looked after him for a few years.
