Yep, I know what you mean. If I was single I would only date veg*ns too. I met my partner when I was vegetarian and wasn't as strict. I think it's great that I've introduced him to veg food, but I still hate the smell and sight of meat.

I'm married to an omni and have 3 kids who eat meat. I had already been married a while before I went veggie though and I knew beforehand that there'd never be any chance of convincing the other half.

The kids....well had I woken up before they were born, they would have been raised vegetarian, but I wasn't and they weren't and it's kind of hard to tell them they can't eat meat while their Dad sits at the table with it. I talk to them about it a lot though and tell them the truth about what they're eating and where it comes from. None of them think a piece of chicken is born a piece of chicken. Hopefully in the future they'll make their own decision (and it will be the one I want  wink

but if you decide to, you open up so many more doors to spread the word of animal rights. It would be really bad if all only socialised with other vegans/vegetarians - in regard to the cause anyway, not necessarily personally.

I managed to turn one of my ex's vegetarian a few years ago, but after we broke up he now has his heart set on working in an abattoir, purely to spite me... when back in the day he used to be unable to stomach eating a pizza if i mentioned it was a dead animal.

My current boyfriend is omni, but he very rarely eats meat because he finds it disgusting most of the time, he loves my vegan cooking though so I'm glad about that tongue

It still hurts a little bit whenever he tells me he's had to eat meat though, although the only occasions he does is if that's the absolute only option.

my partner and i (both vegans) often joke that we're wasting a good opportunity for advocacy by dating eachother instead of meat eaters  laugh

True, true.. but it'll be nice to have a veg partner! I have to deal with omni's every day! sad
