I was wondering if any of you guys have suggestions or experiences you would like to share.

Have you taken an omni out for a nice vegan lunch? How did that go?

Have you had a discussion over said lunch about veganism megaphone ? How did that go?

And have any of you directly impacted on someone going vegan? How did that happen exactly?

I have a friend who is omnivourous and she absolutely loves my vegan cooking! She is borrowing my 'how and why be vegan' books as she is very interested in the idea. She has only just discovered the world of vegan foods, and the common misconception she had that all vegan food is just coloured cardboard has been smashed to pieces. I also actually put my mum (someone who loves her meat and fish) off sardines, simply because she felt awful for the "poor headless fish". My family and pretty much everyone at my school (its a very small school) loves all the vegan dishes I bring in, which is great! My family is also quite fond of some of the stuff I've made too. I've never met another vegan in real life (though a lot of my school is vegetarian) and I am constantly getting asked what its like and if I recommend it (which I do of course) and I've put quite a lot of my vegetarian friends onto vegan food (they really enjoy it!)

And I'm not one of those people who force veganism on others, I simply give people information about it when they ask. And most of them have gone vegetarian/off certain foods (e.g. my mum with the sardines) simply because of the awareness they now have, simply because of talking about the idea ^^

it's so hard not to impose and have them turn off immediatly. so i suppose all you can do is invite them out to a vegan only serving place and hope they ask you a question. Or I suppose you could make a little comment as you get it like, "it's yum and great for the enviroment" or " you have to love cruetly free cuisine" or something like that and hope for a question.

i suppose the key word here in food is 'question.' (?)

Some of my friends are fine about trying my vegan food, but others not so much.

Ive had alot of luck turning people to the veg side. Since being in year 9 ive turned 7 people vegetarian, one who went vegan, four who are planning on going vegan when they leave home and i helped inspire a veg friend to go vegan. happy i also helped with an internet friend going vegan.

unfortunately two of those people stopped being veg when we had a falling out and now one of them seems to eat it almost spite me. He goes on about how we should eat meat and that were superior beings. he cried when i showed him animals being slaughtered..and he now wants to work in an abattoir!

I try to be there for the veg friends i have, helping them with what food are ok and such. they all love my vegan cooking xD especially my pizza lol.

I feel like im really making a difference when i try to show people the cruelty of meat, and they realise how horrible it is.

Had my birthday dinner the other week at White Lotus, so everyone ate vegan. No one complained, and a few people said they really liked the food and "could go vegetarian if all the food was like this". ha

I have one semi-veg friend who eats fish, she's not vegetarian by any means but regularly eats out at vegan restaurants with me.

I also have two omni friends that regularly eat there with me too. One doesn't eat that much meat and loves chinese/thai so he absolutely loves it! I was worried about the other friend as she loves steak and chips, but she enjoys it too!! It's funny coz they actually reccommend going there! We used to always go to omni restaurant for the whole 6 years I've known them, and all I could eat was pasta, so I think they're happy I can eat anything!

And funnily my omni b'friend has always refused to go to a vegan restaurant. Anyway for valentine's day he wanted to take me out for dinner and I said I didn't want to go to any omni restaurants. So he said he'd take me this this vegan restaurant JUST THIS ONCE. Anyway, he absolutely loved it! No surprise there! Then he said he'd take me there every valentines day and every b'day! Haha!!!

I am plotting to take some friends to a really awesome vegan restaurant I went to with my family a few weeks ago, and I am planning to not tell them its vegan either until we're in the car on the way, or let them figure it out for themselves. Haha I can just imagine their faces as they wonder why there's pictures of vegie people on the walls and why there's pro-veg magazines everywhere. Mwahaha!
