I am so confused, I see a bunch of sites saying that all of Helga's is vegan, and then i see other posts (from 3-7 years ago) saying that they use a mystery additive.
Help? ashamed2

I was under the impression that it is vegan. From the VNV website-

Helga's Bread (Details correct as at April 2008)

Helga's is a bakery brand that offers European style grain breads baked to traditional continental recipes and principles. Products extend across traditional loaves, black breads and English muffins, using a range of flours, whole grains and seeds that include wheat, rye, malt, soy, linseed, oats, sunflower seeds, and sesame seeds.
Health facts
          - Lactose free
          - Contains no artificial preservatives
          - Contains no animal fats
          - Is suitable for vegetarians and vegans

I suppose that settles it, it seems pretty illegal to claim otherwise and helga's are a big brand.
Thank you so much, now I may eat my sandwich in piece.
Thank you so much!

They have written on the back of every pack "Contains no animal ingredients". That basically settles it in my eyes. Maybe once they weren't vegan, but are now happy
