ok so i was looking for the song 'free your mind' or whatever its called that played on the new tetley tea ad and i ran into this banned ad

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BK41KP4Z83Y&feature=related

and i was watching it and thinking..ok..so whats wrong with this?

and then i read this

"The advertising watchdog ruled that this implied the tea was beneficial to health, when in fact there is no evidence to suggest it is better for you than water.
Four viewers complained that the advert suggested Tetley Green Tea had the same or similar health benefits as exercise.
In the commercial the woman is seen warming up for exercise. She opens her front door, as if to go for a jog, but sees it is raining she goes back inside.
She is then seen making a cup of tea as the voiceover is heard and the words 'As part of a healthy diet and lifestyle' appear on screen.
The Advertising Standards Authority said the commercial breached codes dealing with evidence and accuracy.
A spokesman said: 'While it did not imply the tea had the same or similar health benefits to exercise, it did imply that the tea had some general health benefits beyond hydration, in particular because it contained antioxidants.
'As we had not seen any evidence to demonstrate that green tea, or the antioxidants in it, had general health benefits, we concluded that the ad was misleading.
'The ad must not be broadcast again in its current form. We told Tetley not to imply that a product had greater health benefits than it did if they did not hold substantiation for the implied claims.'
Tetley said the advert had promoted tea as part of a healthy lifestyle, 'hence the inclusion of the on-screen text and the depiction of a young, fit woman who clearly led a healthy lifestyle'."

ok..what the hell!! From wat ive heard tea is good for you, it does contain anti oxidants. so whats the problem? your not gonna go jogging in rain..so she had a tea. who doesnt like a nice cup of warm tea on a rainy day. doesnt mean that its saying you should drink tea instead of exercise.

but my point is..this ad was banned but not the inghams chicken ad?? what the heck! how stupid is that! i cant believe that shit. they ban an ad for promoting 'misleading' health advise yet its ok to advertise chicken in such a way while insult thousands of people in the mean time? ugh!

ok..so this may have been in another country im not sure but still..why should be have worse standards! this is really frustrating.

maybe someone should make an ad with that split screen effect, have the left side person run to the door, discover its raining, then go back inside, chuck the tv on and start munching on a chicken sandwhich. on the right the person does the same cept they come back inside, have a cup of tea and do a bit of yoga. then, at the end, have "so tell me again, which is more health beneficial?"

lol yes the advertisement watch commitee are on some sort of illegal substance.
for another example: i remember two years ago that there was a ban on a mcdonalds ad that featured aliens in a spaceship with children, eating mcdonalds. it was culled because apparently it "encouraged children to trust strangers". Yet there was no immediate complaints over a nandos ad featuring a mother stripping half naked before eating dinner with her family. but pffft, their both meat-encouraging companies... so i'll just shut my mouth.

I cant believe that! Tea is good for you!..  The board of advertising is almost certainly run by meat eaters who are biased against our cause though.. So any complaints about a pro meat campaign will probably not be taken as seriously..

it's just a crazy crazy morally schizophrenic world.

you can't smoke a joint, yet you can slaughter a baby animal and eat parts of its carccass for fun.
