Jeez, there's a lot of predjudice around you! They should just get over it, it's not their business whether you eat meat or not. How rude of your teacher!
Reading posts like these make me feel so lucky, my school is great, when they have a sausage sizzle they always have like a mountain of vegie patties for us vegos. I've never been slagged for being vego, I just get asked "What do you eat?" a lot.

My RE teacher cried once during a lesson. This was in grade 6... the normal teacher was out of the room and we didn't really know what to do - we just there silently. however a few ,very mean kids, chuckled lol. not saying who they were though
though it must be included thatthey did try very, very, very hard to hold it in. but apparently holding your mouth shut with your hand doesn't work very well.
For RE, my school's having a world religions retreat thingo. For lunch, we're being taking to a veggie resaurant. The place might use ghee in it's food though...
