I dont kill bugs, not mozzies, flies, spiders..
but i cant stand having head lice and whenever i get rid of them i feel bad.

Lice are a parasite, and they are damaging to health (too many lice = loss of blood = iron deficiencies), it is necessary that they be killed, because we cannot protect others until we protect ourselves.

My family is quite prone to lice (although i never get them) and I suport them killing lice, in the same way that we kill fleas on dogs because they are detrimental to the health of dogs, and in the same way that we worm our cats, because without worming them, they would die. I hate to say it, but lice are a lesser being than other animals, because they are a parasite, and cause the suffering of other animals.

Humans can change their ways, lice cannot.

I have 3 kids and one of them has shirley temple type ringlets. For some reason she ALWAYS has lice. We do the whole treat and comb thing once a fortnight and if I miss a fortnight she's full of them again. It drives us crazy. I try to prevent first by sticking her hair full of hairspray/gel and mousse and spraying it with water/lavendar and tea tree oils but she still gets them sad

I've recently found out that mixing a little bit of kerosene with water and spraying it on their hair every morning can keep them at bay but I'm a little wary of kerosene on my daughters head.

I've hit the point now where spending 3 hours combing through a kids hair every 10 days has driven me crazy enough that I want them to die once and for all. Ugh. (I sound so grumpy haha!)

I totally agree with you. There is a difference between an animal that needs defending and a parasite that makes you sick. Id put lice in the same category as ring worm etc etc. Something that needs to be gotten rid of. Keep parasites around and you will eventually get really sick and wont be able to defend the rights of all the animals that dont need to feed of humans to stay alive happy

if your daughter keeps getting lice i would talk to the school about sending letters out for parents to check there children's hair, my niece was always getting them turns out not all parents like to spend time looking through hair and seem to think there child would never get them because they are always clean.
try putting a bit of tea tree oil in the hats and throw out hair ties and make sure you clean the hair brush in boiling water to help get rid of them, my sister goes crazy and washes every sheet and pillow case in the house including the pillows on the lounges.
good luck  happy
