Seriously you could live just off of spirulina if you ate it fresh and you ate enough of it.
You can't live off of it dry as the vitamin C is destroyed during the drying process but otherwise it has every other nutrient (including according to some studies bio-available B12) that one needs to leave.
All the essential fatty acids; complete protein; complex carbs; fibre; every mineral & vitamin; phyto nutrients...
It's just so amazing.

No it's a micro blue-green algae.
You can buy it in powder or capsule form from a health food store and some supermarkets.
ALWAYS buy USA or Australian grown though; not grown in China.

Thanks for that information, I should look into getting me some as all the calcium, iron, protein, etc that it has is amazing.

I've been using Spirulina for ages, but in the last couple months I keep forgetting to take the tablets  ashamed
Which brands are Australian? I have the Synergy tablets but the label says that they make it from imported ingredients.

The powder is better absorbed regardless but if you're taking the pills make sure that they're JUST spirulina and don't have magnesium binders... You're being ripped off if they do.
Synergy is a very good brand. It's Australian and USA grown spirulina that is certified organic; keep taking it! =)
