I think it was quite mean what I said as well and I rather regret saying it. But it's done now.

I wasn't ''picking on'' a 16 yr old. I just won't sit back and be TOLD that I hate animals, by a child. That is ridiculous, not to mention completely untrue   rolleyes
If it's so untrue then why do you eat animals?! People don't eat what they love. That's like someone saying they love babies but it's okay for babies to be killed and fed to them.

You disgust me.
Calm down. Are you saying that before you became a veg*an, you hated animals?
I'm sure Maggie never went on animal rights sites when she wasn't veg*n and attacked and annoyed the hell out of compassionatate people.  happy
Still, respect goes both ways. This aggression is not attractive on a veg*an. I don't like veg*ans telling meat-eaters that they hate animals just because they are meat-eaters. It's not fair. We have all eaten meat at one stage, with the exception of those who were born veg*an.

I agree with this sentiment.

Would you happen to know bonbear personally or something? Just because you seemed to align yourself with her/him in this thread? lol.

No, I don't know him/her, I am just feeling a little sick lately of the attitude of some veg*ans. Put yourself in a meat-eater's shoes, would you like to be spoken to by someone who doesn't even know you, telling you that you hate animals, that you're evil?

I started thinking lately that veg*anism is more about being in an elitist group, than saving animals. It makes me question why I want to be a part of that. Not meaning that I want to go back to eating meat, but sometimes I wonder why I'm on this website chatting with people who would scorn me because I eat Masterfoods tartare sauce.

I didn't see anyone telling anyone else they hate animals or are evil. I think you might be over reacting slightly. I find most of the people on Unleashed to be anything but elitist.

Read the thread, and you'll see it.

There is the option of taking the high road too, but some people prefer to argue incessantly, making personal attacks.

We are apparently compassionate people, but we rarely show this to people, only to animals.

I see people questioning how you can love animals and eat them.. I don't see that as elitist.

This person is a troll. They deserve no respect at all.

Still we can take, as I mentioned before, the high road.

Respect is given when the person is genuinely interested in discussion. This bonbear or whoever they are has, after reviewing the content of their material (and profile), led me to believe that their motives are malignant and disingenuous (read: troll). Trolls can be tackled in three ways. First is to ignore. Second is to respond in silliness. Third is to take it seriously and respond to all claims and questions in a cool, calm and collected manner, without personal attack (read: personal integrity no matter the circumstances). Which of these three is best is often debated (to which I conclude, arbitrary)

If I have asserted incorrectly, then I offer my apologies.  We all make mistakes and literary text has its limitation *shrugs*
