@Bonbear - How about trying a vegetarian diet for a month? My b/f, who tells me ALL THE TIME that he will NEVER be a vegetarian, tried a vegetarian diet for a month and said that he felt a lot healthier, and he lost weight. He did go back to eating meat afterwards.

It's not a 'conversion' as some people say, but it might give you an idea of how easy and fun it is to be a vegetarian, and you might learn a few things. I hope you will consider happy

EDIT: Btw, I have been a vegetarian for over 8 years and a vegan for almost 5 months and I haven't needed to take supplements. Just like any diet or lifestyle, if you do it right then there should be no problems. Meat-eaters can suffer from health problems if they aren't taking care of themselves, just like veg*ans can too if they don't take care of themselves.
Yeah exactly, My mums got CFS and is an omnivore, my sister is anemic and is an omnivore and So far by being vegetarian for almost a year My health hasnt changed, overall I feel a bit healthier but that might be just because Im not putting junk in my body. Its hard to eat junk food when your vegetarian happy

good on you! Nice to see someone NOT bagging Dr Chris  happy I eat meat, and would never dream of becoming vegetarian- its almost like a 'trend' these days. My father, grandfather were both butchers/ meat inspectors, and we grew up being taught that everything on earth is here to serve a purpose. I'm not a bad person because I eat meat. Im also a great animal lover, which (on this site) sounds very hypocritical. But you can be a loving, compassionate animal lover, without being ''vegetarian'' or ''vegan''   Hope I don't get hate mail now...    confused
Veganism isn't a trend, it's a way of life that doesn't contribute to animal suffering as much as possible. Yeah, some people go veg*n because they think it's 'cool' or 'hip', but most people are passionate about it, and are in it for the long run. I don't believe that everything on earth is here to 'serve a purpose'. Obviously you are saying that animals are here for us to eat. I think that if that is true, why are they alive and feeling? Whoever put them here 'for us to eat' must be pretty sick. Even if animals are 'here for us to eat', if we can live healthily (and more healthily, at that) and happily (and more happily) without eating them, then why wouldn't we? There are heaps of fake meats, which taste just like the real thing, but without the cruelty involved. Plants, which cannot feel pain or happiness, are here for us to eat, and they are delish!  pig I think tat if you go to a farm sanctuary, you can see that 'farm' animals do have a purpose, like we do: to enjoy life, and live out their days in peace and tranquility. Not to be torured and have their lives cut short just for someone's tastebuds. http://www.peacefulprairie.org/

I think this thread has got a bit out of hand.monkey Janine just wanted to know whether he was veg*n or not.  tongue

There's no such thing as an animal lover who eats meat. Just an ignorant hypocrite who likes to think they care about animals. A true genuine animal lover DOES NOT support the torture and death of the thing they claim to love. It's like saying you love children but it's okay for them to be slaughtered and fed to us.

Animals are put here to serve a purpose? That's just insulting. Pure ignorance...

Yeah in all my years as a vet nurse, never known a vet that was vegan or vegie. The entire industry is based on exploiting animals, sorry I know the end result is that we treat and save animals lives, but how do you think the veterinary practice world got to that point...They test their drugs and surgeries, train students, all on animals. Well now they are moving towards using simulations for surgery practices, but still, millions of animals have suffered previously so we can save our pet animals. And as for Chris Brown, don't know him personally, and this goes for the other shows like RSPCA Rescue and stuff, they're all nice little fluff pieces that make them look good. Real life aint like that! In terms of the RSPCA it is very very far from what is portrayed.
