Kirrilly, to be honest, I don't really want to know... I sometimes see the old trains full of cows heading to the abbatoirs and it brings tears to my eyes. I admit ignorance is bliss. I love the taste of meat, but don't like to think of how it got to me. You'll all think I'm an asshole for that I'm sure. Its true tho.
When I went vegetarian and then vegan the best feeling was knowing that those animals weren't dying because of me. I don't think you're an asshole for liking the taste of meat, I'm just glad you've made the connection. Would you ever consider not eating meat?

Ironically, Bird's Eye make awesome vegetarian Bubble & Squeak. laugh
firstly, i agree with you, maggie.
bubble & squeak, i'm definitely not judging you for liking the taste of meat. and i understand why you don't want to know about it. its horrific. and i used to be the same, until i did some research and realised that i didn't want to be a part of that.

also, maggie, i used to eat the birds eye bubble and squeak. they're yummy. but then i read the ingredients and it has whey protein from milk.  bye

It must be super hard!!  idea Does it mean no meat, no milk, no eggs, no dairy, nothing... Holy dooly. What is there left to eat?    happy
It's not hard at all.
You'll be surprised to find a lot of the foods you probably eat are suitable for vegetarians and even vegans.
Not many people dive right into veganism either, and noone would expect you to.

I'm pretty sure I haven't eaten them while being vegan. But that really sucks that it's got milk stuff in it. sad

Veg*anism is a great excuse to stay away from processed foods. That was my problem, I was too lazy to make dinner so I would eat those Lean Cuisines all the time.

Aren't Bird's Eye 'evil'? I thought I heard/read that somewhere...?
They used to be owned by Unilever until 2006 but the company switched hands a few times. In Australia they are now owned by Simplot the same company that owns leggos, edgell etc.

That's what I've been trying to find out and nothing so far, only information about them being a company to avoid was from 2005 when they were owned by Unilever.
