Haha. How true about those people probably accepting surgery etc... If someone is the best in their field of work, they deserve a pat on the back. Gotta give credit where credits due
Yes, credit also to his genetics for allowing him to be the best in his field at appealing to the women (and some men) of Australia in order to create a high-rating TV show!!
He's awesome whether he is a vegetrian or a meat eater. He is a great vet Wish he knew about factory farming though.
I'm sure he does. During the 7pm Project about puppy mills I think he said something along the lines of "It's factory farming for puppies." I dunno, I could be wrong.
Anyway I love him and think he's a great vet. His book is good too.
I agree with tarkine, but if I automatically disliked anyone who ate meat I wouldn't have many friends left (or a girlfriend... or a family... or a job...). I think there are bigger problems in the world than a vet that eats meat who is otherwise helping sick / injured animals.
So true. Few of my friends are vego... I still love them, and I don't feel superior because I'm vegan. On the contrary, I have more respect for some of my omni friends than I do for myself - plus, there are some vegans out there who aren't very nice people (as well as many who are downright awesome). This forum provides a place for us to voice our sadness and disappointment at the fact that people who we otherwise admire (and I generally admire vets) are consciously or unconsciously complicit in the exploitation of animals. I expect to be judged for my actions and beliefs in just the same way, and I'd be the first to point out my many moral failings, as well as the many ways in which I am hypocritical. We all have work to do to become better people.
One thing Ive learnt since becoming vegetarian is most vegetarians and vegans do think they are better than everyone else and do judge people for it (and in fare-ness anyone doing a high scale good deed would think the same, Im sure missonary's helping Aid sufferers think they are better than everyone else)
Sorry, but completely disagree. I know many folks who work in the delivery of humanitarian aid, and they are humble as humble can be, as are most of the vegos on this forum. Of course there might be exceptions, but it's a bit unfair to accuse people who believe in human rights, animal rights and social justice of being arrogant because they wish for a more humane and compassionate world.
He's a vet... He does know about factory farming. He has spoken out about puppy mills, and has warned people to be careful where they buy their pets, due to the horrible conditions of puppy farms, and the effects it has on animals. He'd know more about all that stuff than any of us
good on you! Nice to see someone NOT bagging Dr Chris I eat meat, and would never dream of becoming vegetarian- its almost like a 'trend' these days. My father, grandfather were both butchers/ meat inspectors, and we grew up being taught that everything on earth is here to serve a purpose. I'm not a bad person because I eat meat. Im also a great animal lover, which (on this site) sounds very hypocritical. But you can be a loving, compassionate animal lover, without being ''vegetarian'' or ''vegan'' Hope I don't get hate mail now...
