The direct action part of Sea Shepherd has a 6 year minimum. Meaning you need to be in contact (close contact) with members of Sea Shepherd for 6 years before you'll be invited to join them in direct action.
Same goes for most organizations.
Join Animal Liberation in your state and see what you can do there.
