Okay so in the news today there was a story about three year 8 boys (13-14 years old) who beat and killed a kangaroo.
Now, I'm not defending this action AT ALL but the RSPCA came out talking about 2 years imprisonment and up to a @28 000 fine.

Now, how is this a big deal for them?
They support kangaroo "culls" nation wide and aren't against people eating kangaroo meat.

Why?!
Why are they being like this?

Once again publicity, i would suggest visiting the RSPCA QLD facebook page and asking about this, the admin Lauren is really good and it might be a few days but she will get back to you.

Ah... the systematic hypocrisy perpetrated by the RSPCA.  They are 'for all creatures great and small' remember *roll eyes*.

Having said that - I think it's fantastic when a high profile organisation publicly advocates for harsh(er) penalties for acts of animal cruelty.

I thought that the RSPCA only supported culls "reluctantly"?

I actually find the actions of the RSPCA very disturbing. I watched a four corners program from 4 or 5 years ago ( google it and have a look) and it demonstrates the hypocrisy of the RSPCA. They do nothing to help factory farmed (or even just farmed) animals. They do NOT help all creatures great and small. There are so many barristers and lawyers willing to prosecute these criminals for the rspca but the rspca just don't bother.
Another thing they have done that is awful is put their brand sticker on pace farm barn laid eggs. Now we all know that there is little difference to these hens and battery hens. Further, pace farms still produce eggs from battery hens so they are still profiting from cruelty and the RSPCA is condoning this.
On their facebook page, they said oh thank you to hills science diet for a years worth of food for snowy ( that beautiful cat that was tragically tortured). I wrote to the RSPCA on their site and said I found it very worrying that they were promoting hills science diet when the company is owned by colgate palmolive who cut animals open alive for " testing" and experimentation. The rspca then deleted my comment when I only told the truth. So they have an agenda which really isn't to help ALL animals great and small.

The Pace Farm thing drives me nuts!!!
Anyone who's seen inside of a Pace Farm knows there is nothing humane about what they do.
I've also felt that way about Science Diet. It's messed up.

RSPCA's "Paw of Approval" ....yet another initiative to mislead the general population who trust the RSPCA's practices.

These quotes from the website below sum it up pretty well:

"The RSPCA is clearly abusing its reputation as an animal protector when it joins forces with those who profit from killing animals. "

"RSPCA is authorised in the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (POCTAA) to investigate and prosecute animal cruelty cases. How can the public have any faith in believing the RSPCA can properly fulfil this important role when they are business partners with animal farmers."

http://www.rspcawatchdog.org/articles/rspca-paw-of-approval.htm

The amount and type of information the RSPCA OMITS is a major concern.
