Hmm so there is a white muscovy duck living at my local park. There is no other duck of his/her species around and s/he has been there for quite a while.
I'm just kinda concerned whether this duck can thrive well in this environment, since domestic ducks have slightly different nutritional and dietary needs than wild ducks? Should I leave the duck there and just let him/her go about or should I contact a council? I cannot take in any poultry since I have a Jack Russell terrier who has a strong hunting instinct :p
Working in LG, the procedure is to contact the local animal welfare authority. We only catch animals that we have the correct equipment for. Soooo, I would contact an animal welfare organisation that you are ethically comfortable with just in case the shelter your council uses doesn't have a no-kill policy
Has anyone seen the show Yukon Men on Discovery Channel? its show set in Alaska about people who hunt, trap and kill Alaska's wildlife for there fur. The methods they use to kill the animals are horrible - Drowning, Shooting and Smashing the skull with a blunt object, why would discovery channel air a horrific show like this is unbelievable

Yeah, there's all kinds of freaky shows on free-to-air TV too. It's annoying that that kind of rubbish gets produced.
Well, that's another three people who have experienced earthlings. The excuses I hear are astronomical. A new one tonight : here It might be easy but in my country it isn't. So I'm not going to go completely vegan because I can't when I come back to my country. Which is interesting, seeing as he's not going back any time soon.. He couldn't finish his yoghurt/have seconds on fish because he, and I quote "felt disgusting". That was the excuse he used however shortly after admitting defeat on his first one, which is you can't get enough protein to build proper muscle... which was when I showed him photos of a raw vegan friend of mine and celebrity bodybuilders/wrestlers/olympic champions. The other guy was evidently desensitized to the footage, as he's researched heavily into vivisection. Thrid one shut down after he made the decision that I was forcing him to watch a "terrible movie" and a vegetarian friend of his is severely unhealthy. All interesting reactions. However, it will be intriguing when I introduce to of the three to those that are coming to my vegan housewarming to show what vegans and vegetarians do in their spare time/what they're food is like.
If you live in Adelaide we should arrange a time to visit Freedom Hill Sanctuary in the hills together some time
And @4_da_animals1 I can understand why the first guy would say it's harder in his country. I come from China and I can certainly say that it would be 1000 times more difficult to be vegan there, with the social pressure and all. If I never came to Australia I would definitely not be vegan right now.
