Hey guys, 'Sup?

So i got some purple contact lenses the other day, with little black stars..they shhhhweet!

It hurt at first to put it in and my eyes were watering but now it feels ok, although i can see a slight tinge of purple around my eye tongue

anyway, I'm a tad worried about them 'cause they're not prescription shaped to fit my eye.
Just wondering if people have horror stories or any advise about them?

They're not irritated at all, just figured i should ask around!

Cheers ecstatic

Sadly, Kat, I bring you no answers, only more questions.

I was wondering today, while looking at contacts online, if they have animal products in them/are tested on animals?

I'm pretty sure there was a news story about people wearing non prescription contact lenses for fashion. I think they were saying it was really dangerous sad
I can't remember the details, but it was definitely advising against it!

Part of the reason they were banned rom of the shelf sale was because a girl shared her lenses with another person and went blind =/

now you can still get coloured ones, but you need to have your eyes measured and stoof..

The ones i have in aren't hurting at all, i they do i'll obviously take them out lol.. xD

Be particularly careful to wash your lenses properly - that's the key!  I do it (with prescription lenses, but same principle) by putting the lense in the palm of my hand (which is dry at this stage), and then cuppling my hand and filling it up with solution.  Stick a finger from the other hand inside the lense and rub around in circles for 5-10 seconds.  Pick up the lense, empty the solution from your hand, but then rinse the lense in solution again before you put them in your eye or into storage.

Make sure you're putting them in the correct way.  When your lenses are inside out they won't look like a nice cup, they will have this kind of shape \__/ (when you see it, that will make a whole lot more sense!)

I always wanted to get coloured ones, but I've always worn different brand lenses in each eye, so the colours are different.  Shame.

ETA: Not sure about others, but the solution that I use is really just ionised water.  I can't see how that would need to be tested on animals.  It doesn't contain any chemicals, or anything particularly radical.

Thank you heaps for the advise!! ecstatic love

Yeah, the solution i have is like..water and something else, but like.. 0.9 % of that something else.

Yeah i know it can be dangerous, hence why i was cautious with it, if it starts to hurt, i wont use them anymore..If i can see/feel them moving, i'll just take them out >.<
I'm not silly enough to continue and try to ride it through, I'm an artist..i NEED my eyes XD
