He told me that I shouldn't buy them off the internet or from places such as the Easter Show that sell them for really cheap.
My friend bought a pair from The Easter Show and they had a tiny bur of plastic sticking out and scratched at her eyeball pretty bad and she wasn't able to wear them.
The optometrist told me how he knew of people buying cheap ones who thought they were safe enough to sleep with in and how the contacts rolled back and fixed to the opposite side of the eyeball.

Well, there is no harm in buying contact lens online. However, before buying them you need to know what kind of contact lens will suit you best. First you need an up-to-date and correct prescription from an eye doctor. They will give lens measurements, the choice of contact lens brand and material that will be comfortable for you. Then search them on the internet, there are some good online shop like http://www.contactlensheaven.com/biomedics-55-uv.html etc. that has great brand lenses at very affordable price. But I agree you should not sleep wearing them and not wore them more than eight hours a day.
