My Dog Died Today :(

So, my family dog Harry was euthanised today. sad

He was quite old, around 14. Apparently his lungs collapsed, so there was nothing that could be done. I was volunteering at the AA stall at Rundle Markets (Adelaide) when it happened. I didn't find out until this afternoon. My parents had already burried him before they told me. They live almost an hour away from me so I probably won't have the chance to say goodbye to him until later in the week.

I'm just feeling kinda sad. My boyfriend is away for work at the moment so it's just me and our dog Jersey. sad

I'm really sorry, that's so sad sad

Death of a pet is always so heartbreaking, and I find it's lonely because not as many people understand the bond and upset you feel when it is a pet rather than another human.

Chocolate for you tonight I think!

I'm sure he had a great life before his passing, you sound really caring happy

Try to think of the good life he had with you...
I know it's hard, but also remember it IS better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
And he'll always be with you in spirit & live on in your memories, it'll just take a while to get used to him not physically being there sad

May time & love fill your emptiness and ease your loneliness

Sorry to hear that Em.
Had he been sick for long? Did you know it was coming?
How awful to get home and find out.
Sorry you were at the stall while it happened.
I had to have some time off of stalls last year while my dog was not doing well. I cant imagine to have been away from her during it.
So sorry.

I am so sorry for your devestating loss if you feel like venting know I will listen without comment as I know how much it helps to know you are not alone with the turmoil of emotions you will be going through just know its normal and something we all go through when in grief. With my deepest sympathy. Lisbeth and the lads. bye

I am so so soooo sorry for the loss! he loss of any animal is always sad, but the ones that we live with and hold as part of the family, is somethng so raw and painful.

My beutiful cat Misty had a stroke at 17 and we had to euthaise her, so i know the sadness you feel, as all do.. and im just sorry that you didnt get to say goodbye in person. I know how that feels.

Are you a spiritual person? I know a lot of people laugh at the idea, but i personally belive that all animals have a soul and i had a medium do a reading for me once for Misty and her reading was very accurate and so amazing and it gave me so much peace knowing Misty was still there with me and was happy and at peace happy

If you ever want to talk or need help getting through the grief.. just ask happy

I'm so sorry about Harry. I know how your feeling. When I found out the family dog died I was heart broken. My mum told me over the phone and I couldn't stop crying, and I was at the train station! People just stared at me and not one person asked if I was alright.

We are all here for you. Can you call your boyfriend? I find a good, nice long talk with my boyfriend when I'm really down can help a lot.
