Hey,
my fish died on the 30th of december, because her two "tankmates" who are catfish, kind of bit her and her scales started to fall of in one spot. She got better because we cleaned her tank, and she was doing backflips and floating around and swimming normally, and then I came to see her in the morning and she was face down at the bottom of the tank..... I'm so sad. I loved her so much and I still do. I'm thinking of instead of getting more gourami, I'm just going to get more catfish. I'm not really sure why I typed this whole thing, guess I just thought that people would like to know or something. Sorry! ANyway hope everyone has a happy new year!
I know what you're going through, if you need to talk to anyone I'm here for you!
Em
Nawww thanks Em, I guess theres not much to talk about just the fact that I miss her heaps. The tank is so empty without Luna She died the day before my birthday too

Oh no Just keep in mind that she's in a better place where no fishies can bite her.
I'm sure she's happy wherever she is.
Oh, that's so sad!! I'm so sorry to hear about your fishy! Are you okay??
When my favourite fish died in 2008 I cried. His name was Flynn. He was a Betta. Here's a picture of him. I kept him in a tank with no filter, so it's no wonder he only lived about 9 months. But everyone told me that those fish naturally lived in puddles! What a lie! http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/ee338/maggie_Sharp1/Flynn/Picture008.jpg

I think they naturally live in rice patties, but I could be wrong, and it could even just be common misconception. there is nothing 'natural' about keeping them in a tank though, so bigger is better
Sorry about your fish too any animal passing is always upsetting

This was a completely unnatural tank for a fish. It was a bowl with big colourful rocks on the bottom and a single plastic plant in the middle. I wonder if that should be considered animal cruelty? I think it shoud be...
Betta live in shallow water, because of seasonal weather they are somtimes washed into small bodies of water and thats only in certain parts of Thailand/Cambodia. That why they have a labyrinth organ. Thier natural habitat is "creeks" and swappy large bodies of water, sometimes shallow but wide and yes rice paddies. Pet shops confine them because of greed which you can read all about on our website.
