i noticed alot of horses being scared in lord of the rings well between falling asleep anyway.
while i find it sad seeing animals in movies its hard not to find movies with animals in it even if they arent the main focus i mean nearly every movie a family will have a pet dog or other animals.
were do you draw the line with movies
your dp is adorable! XD

anyway..yeah i know what you mean..i dont like animals in movies full stop but one thing is to have a dog being cuddled for a scene and a kitten being thrown off of a cliff you know?

i was crying for ages over milo and otis..its so horrible >.<

You draw the line the same place you would with all other cruelty.

whenever anyone mentions something like this I go and do some searching about it to see how much this actually happens in general. Theres lots of movies where animals have died 0_o
i was going to watch snowbuddies but now i cant, milo and otis is ruined for me, i wont watch the new flicka movie and i know about some international movies where they actually kill animals on screen.

people are so cruel and misled. i can only believe that they must be disillusioned, indenial or perhaps possessed to be able to do these things.

Milo and Otis has to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen when it comes to animal cruelty.

somewhere between 20 and 30 kittens, and multiple puppies, where killed in the making of it.

It makes me sick to think that I liked that movie as a child... but then again, I always had a bit of a sick feeling in my stomach about it as well, like it just wasn't right.

animal used for movies should be forbidden.

its the same issue as animals used for a circus.

Wether or not it is ethical..

But i'm certain that the horses used in Lord of The Rings are trained stunt horses... They're actually trained to collapse and fall over without hurting themselves on command. This is the case for most horses in movies, as they make poor actors unless they are trained so..

Other animals though fare far worse..
ahh, but how are they trained? like circus animals or with treats?

either way its horribly qwrong to make them do un natural things for our entertainment.

Thus, why i didnt finish watching LOTR

Well. I've never actually seen The Lord Of The Rings, so I can't really comment on it. But a lot of animals that are used in movies work extremely long hours and their trainers get frustrated with them and are often not very kind.
