Do any of you guys have tips on how to survive the costs of uni? I (or maybe now was) planning to start studying in Sydney from semester 2, but accommodation costs are so high.
Share-housing is gonna be your best bet to keep those costs down. A lot of uni's have noticeboards where people can advertise looking for housemates. You can also look online (gumtree for instance), and on noticeboards in supermarkets in areas where you wouldn't mind living.

And always try to take your own lunches to uni!! Buying every day burns through your cash so fast!

I don't know about all unis, but I studied at UWA and they had "short term loans" where you could borrow up to $70 a fortnight, as many times as you needed it (provided you paid it back), in case you were stuck for grocery shopping, photocopying, public transport ... flowers for your sweetheart. Just go into the Guild office and ask them for info!

Thanks Anthony! Annoyingly though even share housing is too much for me, even if it was out in the western suburbs sad! The university has some shared accommodation for a good price, not to bad at $176/w for a small room but i think they only offer it from semester 1 sad!

Aghhh i think i should maybe do uni here to save (a lot of) money, but aerghm i don't know how long i could stand living with my family.
