Hey, am vegetarian slowly converting to veganism. Does anyone know any great websites when it comes to helping you plan a well rounded diet? I do a lot of sports and am keen to know info from anyone who does lots of sports, how they keep their protein and iron up?

Also, does soy milk have all the vitamins and minerals I need, or should I be taking a supplement as well, like calcium?

Im not a Dietician but Im sure you could still take protein supplements from your local sport store, chemist or health food store. This will definitely help you keep your protein.

Vegans get fine amounts of proteins, it's a common misconception that we need so much you generally find people who eat meat get way over the rdi and have plenty of problems so protein supplements are not needed. Here is a site that explains protein and sources - http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/protein.htm

b12 is one of the only things you might need to worry about, but you can always get a blood test done and see how all your levels are if you get worried

This is the one you might need supplements for because b12 is found in soil and the way we grow vegetables prevents this nutrient for finding it's way to our super markets. You will either need b12 supplements or b12 fortified foods, most soy milks and Vege patties contain fortified b12, check the packets!

Check out a vegan body building site. There's lots of proteins that come from plants. Pea, soy and rice protein for eg.
