If you were a farmer, and you farmed rice (to keep it neutral) How would you be able to demand a high price for it if the value put on it was next to nothing?
I don't understand how she's made out farmers to be horrible people by laying that out on the table.
Can i ask where you have read an ACTUAL quote from a farmer saying that the lower prices will directly lead them to lower there welfare of there stock.

Some farmers are also saying that the low 'value' put on milk makes it even more difficult for them to demand higher prices for their products - meaning it's less and less likely that they'll be able to invest in animal welfare (like, raising 'bobby calves'??)
I do not understand what the issue with this is other than to question who the 'some farmers' are. By "less and less likely to invest in animal welfare" does not necessitate in -lowering- welfare. It can mean that -existing- animal welfare practices may stay as they are and not improve.

Whoa. What a discussion that created! Yes - thank you. That is precisely the point. I can understand how it could be misinterpreted though. Daniel - is that clearer now?
