Thats so sad sad. Animals and their owners dont deserve to be treated so cruely unfairly!!
Ill have a talk with my mum and see what we can do about getting involved with the police, aswell as getting a security camera installed.

I also like Jessicas idea of the tape recorder.

Thankyou guys for your support and caring! I hope that one day all neighbours and neighbours with pets can live in harmony. Sounds a bit cheesy, but I really do hope so.

love

$15,000??? Are you sure? My rotty had a ruptured cruchet ligament (from my mastiff jumping on her when playing rolleyes) and that was going to be around $1500 at most for the surgery.

I'd definitely install a security camera. Thats a great idea. Maybe you can pretend to go out and catch him on tape etc. That way if he does go to hurt your dog you can run out and stop him before he does but you've still got him on tape in the yard about to hurt him. And jut try to keep your boy inside whenever you can.

I have a neighbour with an awful kid who was always throwing things over the fence at the dogs. I talked to his parents so many times. Some of the things he threw at them were quite dangerous.

I made police reports several times. Even if they couldnt do anything, at least if the kid got bitten one day they had records that he'd been harassing them. I also kept my own records of every time I found something in the back yard and saw the kid on the fence or anything.

Police reports are always good to have, even if it's just for records. You never know when you may need to refer back to them.

And keep a record/ list of everything you can think of to do with him.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

awwww sweetie *hugs* That os sp horrible. I dont know what if wrong with people sad
can you leave your dpg inside when no one is home?

This kind of stuff scares me. Because my dog HATES the neighbours behind me, he always barks at them when they are outside, he doesnt bark at any other naighbours. I have caught them yelling at him a number of times. And i have found cigarettes next to the fence.. Dad has asked them a number of times not to flick their cigarette butts in our yard, Dad actually said he wouldnt be suprised if they flick them at the dog. Meanies.. I would go nuts if I ever caught them doing that though,

anyways I hope you and your baby dog are okay xo

yeah it was a typing mistake and i only JUST realised! youre correct though; $1500 at most.

yes i also think the security cams a good idea.

what a rotten kid! thats absolutley cruel. those parents should make more of an effort to get it into his head that what he is doing not right at all. >|

Thats true. And yes, we havn't changed anything since Friday night when we came home and discovered Vince.

Thankyou!! We need luck happy Vince has been taken for X-Rays this morning but we're hoping it's not as bad as torn ligament but i doubt it.

Thanks for all the support guys ecstatic

I agree heaps with the camera in your backyard idea

...However using a voice recording device on someone who is unaware and does not consent is illegal. You can have one hooked up if they illegally enter your property however if you walk over to him in the street and converse with him and he says "ma'f**ker I kicked the crap outta ya dog" (or however else I expect such a foul person to speak) and you take that to the police, they can't use it as evidence as it was illegally obtained.

My familys best wishes for you and your dog xoxox

Video is legal audio is not, that is why security camera footage can be used in court since they don't record sound.

I had no idea about the recording being illegal!
We havn't taken any legal action yet. Put hopefully my mum will agree to soon.

Update:

I've just been up to the Vets after Vince had his X-Rays, turns out his leg is badly bruised, and no torn ligament! So no major surgery ecstatic.

Hes at home now, resting. Hes not toally himself, but thats obviously expected for a while.

Thanks for all your support guys! I really hope something like this doesn't happen to Vince or any other pet and their owners again :/. Sadly it probably will.

God Bless everyone and all the animals C:

Also by being legal it doesn't mean you can just record random people, your situation would be fine your dog is being injured and you have a security camera to record what it happening and if something like abuse happens to appear then I am quite sure the police can use that seeing as installing security cameras on your property isn't illegal.

Why is video legal and audio not? I don't think any serious mafia hit-man style planning is going on in her backyard.. In which case, I'm sure the police would want that audio! laugh
