Of course it would be expensive...but people will probably listen to anything thats TV these days! I think its a really cool idea, TV's the No.1 way to get a message out there, especially if the Ad's in the middle of a popular show. Some really shocking images are sure to get people's attention... i say do it!... (this is kinda exciting!)
Would be cool if Animals Australia - or anyone for that matter - could use the 'Lucy Speaks' ad thingo, but adapt it to fit TV with pics/video. I think it was a very effective campaign when it was broadcast on the radio.
theres two ways to go about it, in a sad way..or a funny way ie: pics of hurt animals, the norm..you know. or lightheartedly joking around, poking fun at meat eaters and their stereotype. facts about how were better at sex or whatever.
what do you guys think about this? i think both are good..
on one hand, the sad one might get people thinking etc but others will defiantly say that its an isolated case or even computer edited (like some -.-)
but the funny one will also get people thinking, it will catch attention in a less preachy seeming way (to them..) because were not shocking people with these up front disturbing images..but simple jokes.
omg! incorporate everyon'es ideas. have a set of adds (like 3 or 4 if that doesn't cost more) with vegans (you guys) showing how normal we are. in 30 secconds we could ahve someone say 'hi, i'm john smith, and i'm a vegan. I'm an artist *present artwork*. give 1 fact about meat(eg. did you know it takes 2500 galons of water to produce a pound of meat, but only 25 galons to produce a pound of grain. think about it.), then give animals australia website. Very cool fade out on artwork at end.
Orrrr, we could have 50 bazillion vegans standing together shouting out WE'RE VEGAN! and shots of people laughing and smiling close up, a cool voiceover saying 'vegan, moraly correct.' or 'vegans have more fun' or something stupid like 'vegans have better sex' 'vegans hare happier' and then have the animals australia website.
