I don't agree with it. I think all once living things should be returned to the earth. If you stop returning the organic matter to the earth then how can the earth replenish itself? I think preserving a dead body interrupts the cycle and it's just one more thing killing this planet.

*None of the animals used in Custom Creature creations were killed for the purpose of using them in these projects. Specimens are road kill, destroyed nuisance animals, livestock, casualties of the pet trade, or died of natural causes. All animal components are recycled. A strict "waste not, want not" policy is adhered to - virtually every part of the animal is utilized.*

Im an odd ball, i love taxidermy, but i hate anyone who kills for it (thus i dont buy these sorts of items).

Take a look at her impecable work and odd creations, tell me what you think, i look up to her so much as an artist and for recycling animal parts rather then use any that are killed for her work.
"Out of respect for the animal, as little as possible is wasted. All studio leftovers are recycled to the fullest extent. Rather than being discarded, these items are prepared and made available for educational purposes. They are suspended in a safe non-carsinogenic anti-microbial solution and will remain preserved indefinitely."

unfortunately I find this sort of stuff fascinating on a really disturbing level also.
but more for the fact that when I look at an animal I think of the life it would have left, and the experience it would have had. I can't stand taxidermy which is created solely from animals which are hunted for it, or bred for it.

*edit: I also plan on purchasing human remains, it's not anything to do with the animals, I'm just a strange individual
Hey human remains would be very interesting! If you ever happen to get your hands on some, let me know!

Knee-jerk reaction is, ugh. There's something wrong about it. But I agree, it is fascinating. The fantasy animals especially. Probably not some thing I'd want in my house though.

I guess I'm odd too. I cant stand animal body products. I find it too disturbing, but humans I'm fine with.
Have you seen that plastination guy's exhibitions?
I saw his human body show a few years ago. It was really interesting. He's bringing a show soon with human and other animal bodies but I dont think I could bring myself to go to that.

I'd love a shrunken head and a feotus in a jar!! I saw something once about a serial killer from the 1700's or so, who was executed and his skin made into wallets for the families of his victims.
I thought that was so cool and it got me searching.
I found this site.

Now I plan to donated my body to make leather products.

And you said your stange... wink

Definitely. Most likely not any time soon though happy

I've always wanted my body to be used in the same way as humans treat other animals but dont think I could easily get someone to eat me. I might be a bit too fatty for their taste laugh

You want your body used in the the same way humans treat animals? That's noble of you, im donating mine to science, i really wont need mine after i die, but still not as interesting as your donation haha!

As for someone eating your body, well im sure there are some freaky people out there who still practice canibalism, and i dont think they are too picky either..

I've seen the plastination exhibition. Didn't agree with it, but at least those people signed up for it and had a say before they died.
