You got me wrong, okay im talking about the thoroughbeds that are rejected from flat racing, so then they are bought cheap for jump racing. Not all horses have the natural ability to jump like others do. So what happens to the horses that are rejected from flat and jump racing?? most likey killed anyway.
That's true. Like horses the horses too slow for flat-racing, some horses will be rejected from jumps racing.
But still, without jumps racing, the horses rejected from flat-racing don't have that extra 'safety net' that prevents them from going straight to the slaughter house. They have the chance to get through the jumps racing circuit and then retire - therefore not being slaughtered.
I really hope someone has thought about this before starting the 'ban jumps racing' campaign. I think maybe we should have focussed on all horse racing before jumps racing - we'd be saving, in theory, many more horses.
I'm sure there is a simple explanation for this order of events (ban jumps then ban all horse racing)... at least I hope so..
