Let me ask one thing. How many of you acutally owned a dog that is in need of serious help? I bet 99% of you fools writing negative comments Re: Cesar Millan's methods haven't had issues with pets this intense! I don't suppse your answer would be to have the dog put down? I have a beautiful Staffy who never seemed to like other dogs from the day I rescued her. Where I picked her up from claimed she may never get along with other dogs - what a load of crap! She's now a proud friend of a Sheltie. Now, she still acts funny when we pass other dogs during walks but THANKS TO CESAR MILAN's show, I've been able to a) control her and b) walk her without a muzzle! While I've only commenced special training within the last week, I've noticed such a great improvement already. I do NOT 'kick' my dog, I use my feet to nudge her just to get her attention. Sometimes I may have to give her a push rather than a simple nudge to get her to 'snap out of it' but I NEVER hurt my precious little girl. In case no one here really takes notice of the obvious, of course a compilation video of Cesar Millan "kicking" dogs in training will look cruel or look like he's the most horrible person in the world. Truth be told, he loves dogs and compilation videos show an over exaggeration of whatever the compilation is about and has bugger all to do with who that person really is professionally or personally. Think of it this way, if you were taped at work and someone compiled a video of all your bad days does that make you a complete and utter bitch??? I rest my case trollers!

you just said yourself that your dogs have no issues. How can you judge Cesar Millan's techniques when you've never had the isses we have with our dogs? I've tried the whole "rewarding for good behavious and ignoring bad behaviour" thing and it did not work with my dog because her issues were far more advanced than just your average dogs bad behaviour. That sort of theory sounds more like something you use on humans. Seriously, there's a very big difference between human and animal behaviour and people for some reason dont seem to grasp the idea.

Well, normally one would assume that when you hit "reply" it shows what you're replying to. Clearly that is not the case here. Just worked it out now though lol!

I personally do not agree with this form of training. I just don't. I don't care for being more educated about it because doing that to train your dog is unnecessary to me. I don't understand how people think it's okay either. No it's not kicking, but it does startle them which to me is a form of abuse no matter what their intention is. They shouldn't just be startled just because you're training them and they clearly don't want to learn at that moment. BUT, this is my opinion. I would never do that to any of my companions. paw

Of course you feel this way because you don't have a dog that handles the way these dogs need to be handled. Go to anyone who has a very powerful unstable dog and you'll change your mind I promise. Also, what you said about "startling" and how you dont agree, how do you think a clicker gets the dogs attention? *Click* - *startles* - *looks up* And if you think it's ok to leave a dog alone because they do not want to learn at that moment wow, you need to not give up otherwise they wont respect you.

I Dont see anything wrong with Cesar Millan's training techniques, they have helped save thousands of dogs!! I use to work at a dog training facility where we would train dogs for the police force and family dogs and we used Cesar's methods.

We had a range of dogs that came through and we had the occasional aggressive dog and we used the methods mentioned in this form and after 2 weeks of training and rehabilitating you would never guess it was the same dog! It doesn't hurt the dog, if it did i wouldn't do it. Unless you have had experience with aggressive dogs you have no idea what you are talking about.

Yes I agree with you, Caesar is great with dogs, have learned  a lot from his programmes.
One can edit anything to make it look and sound negative.
If only people had treated little puppies from birth positively then we would not have
some aggressive dogs in the world that are confused when their personality is changed.
I've had two standard poodles same breeder, the male is a gentle giant, the female was
hurt as a 5 month old puppy by a 3 year old child.  [Mother was not looking after her son
while I was in the kitchen making her a cup of tea]  My dog is now 8 years old and scared of little boys or males in dark clothing.  I wish people would look after and watch their children around dogs, this has affected our life the last 8 years because of one little boy.   sad

As this video has been removed I cant judge Cesar Milan kicking dogs, however ive never seen any success in changing the behaviour of a dangerous aggressive dog by using treats. I know a rescue dog who yesterday started playing domnantly with a womans foot, Jason the owner had been instructed by a brillant animal behaviourist Caio (from NSW) to not leave the dog alone with women as he had shown little respect for women. Jason was to correct and instruct the dog to be submissive around women.
He left the dog alone and went out the back of the house. The dog scared the woman, she screamed as did the woman sitting next to her and he then bit them both. Caio is very firm with power breeds and the dogs who come to him for rehabilitation. He may even be as firm as Cesar Milan, I dont know. But dont live in a dream world guys, if it wasnt for Cesar Milan or Australia's Caio- many problematic dogs including the one mentioned would not have a hope in hell of a live with a family.
