one word for you sir - respect! It sounds like the poor girls freaked out and made the dog freak out. I had a situation a couple of weeks back where i was walking my dogs and came across a stray. Since my Staffy does not like other dogs I handed the leash/es to my wife and asked her to go home whilst I try to catch this dog and bring him home. Little did I know I was about to be rushed!!! Luckily I watched Cesars episode where he walks into this violent pittbull's backyard and the key is to stay calm, stand high and don't make sudden movements or noises. I hope the girls are ok and I hope they are taught how to deal with the situation should it happen again

As this video has been removed I cant judge Cesar Milan kicking dogs, however ive never seen any success in changing the behaviour of a dangerous aggressive dog by using treats. I know a rescue dog who yesterday started playing domnantly with a womans foot, Jason the owner had been instructed by a brillant animal behaviourist Caio (from NSW) to not leave the dog alone with women as he had shown little respect for women. Jason was to correct and instruct the dog to be submissive around women.
He left the dog alone and went out the back of the house. The dog scared the woman, she screamed as did the woman sitting next to her and he then bit them both. Caio is very firm with power breeds and the dogs who come to him for rehabilitation. He may even be as firm as Cesar Milan, I dont know. But dont live in a dream world guys, if it wasnt for Cesar Milan or Australia's Caio- many problematic dogs including the one mentioned would not have a hope in hell of a live with a family.
I have been watching Cesars shows and I find him more in touch with dogs than other trainers/ therapists/whisperers. Some say his methods are outdated, I dont agree. His methods are no different to the dogs methods themselves and dogs dont change their methods like humans do. They have a pecking order, they have a leader, they have a way to pull other dogs back in line. Cesar is doing what a dog would do.
I have shown my dogs who's boss and I have never been hurt, bitten, attacked. My eldest dog recently passed away after 15 beautiful years with me and never once hurt me or anyone else. My dogs are treated as loving members of my family/pack. They have their place and they know that Im the top dog.
The people on this forum obviously don't have foxtel and haven't seen the dog whisperer or they just like to bitch about people! As far as I am concerned Cesar's methods are fantastic! His show not only teaches techniques for responsible dog ownership but a way of life that is totally calm and balanced! He teaches that dogs sense what you are feeling which is 100 percent correct! If you are angry or unstable dogs pick up on it! If any of the people here can handle an aggressive large breed that is dangerous then I would be really surprised as Cesar has saved so many dogs lives and not through hurting them! If you actually watch the show and see dogs choose to lay besides Cesar and not the owner, this is not fear! The dogs are not punished, ever! Infact, his approach relaxes and calms dogs down which in my world is a wonderful thing! I see so many overly excited dogs that don't know how to behave and this is cruel as they are not being authentic to their breed! I find the people here hypoctits and Just don't understand what Cesar is doing! If you know anything about dogs Cesar never never hurts them! When I walk my dogs I want to see other people have control over their dogs which I don't see very often! I want a society where dogs are not put down for bei g aggressive or uncontrolable! If everyone bought up dogs like Cesar and had his attitude there would never be dogs that get put down! He dedicates his life to saving dogs and the people here should be ashamed of themselves as the dogs that he rehabilitates would have been put to death either by their owner or the authorities for biting someone! There is nothing that will convince the cat people on this forum that Cesar knows what he is doing because they have absolutely no knowledge of dogs!
Has anybody seen how a mother dog teaches her pups??? Just as positive training is important, so is correcting a bad behaviour.
A mother dog corrects and teaches its young ones with a little nip of correction, if you see any pack of dogs and see how the leader controls them, you would see that a packet of smackos or praise of good behaviour is un realistic.
I believe in positive training and correction training. It's a healthy balance
I can't believe how narrow minded people are, I watch every episode of the dog whisperer n now his new series leader of the pack n he never hurts the dogs. If you had watched him in action you could never believe he would hurt the animals your all followers with no minds of your own. I do now n always will love Ceasar unless u can post inrefutable proof of him hurting any animal especially dogs. 😊 I love Ceaser
