I also totally agree with TW dogs raised by their mother get disciplined n they don't have treats so rewards are there kisses but Ceaser does nothing wrong and is more in tune than I've seen anybody doing any other animal show he obviously loves dogs and had committed his life to them so nope in no way do I or will I ever believe he sets out to hurt them. And by the way usually bad behaved dogs are the owners fault in the first place n he wouldn't have to correct their behaviour if they were trained in the beginning from pups.

He seems to be making a move to more positive style dog training lately, which is good. Just because he looks good on tv doesn't really mean anything. Plenty of information out there disproving the theories he uses, and even a few owners that were on the show whose dogs had gone back to their old ways soon after cesar left for good.

To be fair, while he's not the greatest trainer and not one I'll ever support, he's not horrible, so many worse trainers out there that actually seriously abuse the dogs.

But I'm just gonna leave. There's one thing I've learned from all the dog training forums, and that's that Cesar Millan threads never end well tongue

Cesar Millan has my greatest respect and support. He treats dogs like dogs, not like small children. If you know about dogs, they discipline each other all the time. He is brilliant.

Yeah, I had a friend once that bred dogs. The mother of the litter would always kick her puppies, and give them good jerks around the neck that can damage their spine.

Humans aren't dogs, and dogs don't see our 'discipline' as natural. Most dogs in groups also have arguments all the time with a lot of snarling and snapping, yet most humans think it's unacceptable for a dog to do that to them.

Considering there's more humane methods, that work quicker and better, and actually have scientific research backing it up, I don't see why anybody would use a method like Cesars. Also he relies heavily on the dominance theory, which is a myth that has long been debunked.

I agree with you completely, Tamara! You have said it perfectly! Having raised puppies, rehabilitated dogs with big issues, and had a pack of 9 dogs at one point, I know how well Cesar's techniques work. I use his exercise, discipline, affection technique, and as a result I have a pack of balanced, well behaved, happy dogs, who all get along with each other, respect the other animals, and respect me as the leader.

i dont like dogs whose owners have raised them to be quiet little mouses. I like dogs with a sense of humor and a bit of character.

Hi there,
Just wanted to let you know that I signed up to this forum specifically to reply to your posts. I was so relieved to see all that you have written.... I was pretty mad before I stumbled across you! I entirely agree with you and feel it is very unfortunate when reading these comments. That incredible man has never hurt an animal, if there was ever a little more force than usual it was when he was in a critical situation with a red zone dog lunging at him. I would like to see evidence of these nay-sayers rehabilitating the worst case scenario dogs themselves. Guess what, modern day dogs purebred or otherwise are OUR FAULT and we have a responsibility to those animals (all animals in fact). Every issue those dogs have on the show are 100% due to human error and ignorance. Correction does not mean violence or abuse, he is always completely calm and in control, once again I would like to see these preachers doing any better.
I realise I have ranted on your page but I really appreciated reading your posts!

I am a little curious...to all of your nay-sayers out there what is it exactly that makes Cesar such an abhorrent and inferior trainer to you? I am truly interested to hear (assuming you actually OWN dogs) whether you have your own trainers that work better/completely reject his methods. There is no issue of abuse here, but of course you needn't agree with his training methods, like anything else in life, but don't go try and destroy someone's reputation behind the safety of your computer screen because of your possibly misguided ideas. I realise this may seem like trolling or a bit hypocritical (its a forum I know everyone has a right to their own opinion) but in truth this is the very first forum I have joined up to purely because I felt the express desire to rebut the harsh claims against this man. My rescue dog for about two years was a severe red zone case, my boyfriend nearly lost his finger one time. Being an avid dog lover and zoologist I was ready, willing, and 100% devoted to my dog's recovery when I found Cesar. Three Melbourne trainers gave up on my dog. These may be the very same people vilifying Cesar. I watched every episode, ready every book..and in just over six months my darling dog was CURED. I've never prayed for anything...and never believed in magic...but it actually happened for me. My dog was never hurt or abused. With a calm assertive claw-shaped hand applying gentle force like their own mother's jaw, I was able to snap his brain out of that dangerous state. I could not believe it!
I am sorry for those of you who have not had success with your dogs, suffice to say it is probably not Cesar Millan's fault.

Oh I missed the episode where he bludgeoned a dog nearly to death.
