I've been thinking of things I can treat my dog, Bob with. I've ordered some of that "VeganPet" food which should arrive soon... but, I still have no ideas for treats!
So, if you had any ideas on things I could buy or make as a treat for Bob... He would really appreciate it!
I agree with carrots and apples. My cats eat VeganPet Cat Food and one of them enjoys baby spinach, lettuce, rockmelon, mango and papaya as well as things like avocado sushi!
Try different veggies and fruits, also some raw food books have treats for pets and google it because people bake dog treats as well and you could make some at home
but i also personally dont agree feeding my dogs vegan - as they wouldnt in the wild. but this is my view
Hey Rav3n! I totally get your point. Just watch out for the kind of food you buy though. The animals that die of natural causes, such as cancer etc, get put into dog food so make to buy a healthy brand.
I have a vegan cook book and they have a section dedicated to vegan dog treats (yay )
I can give you recipes for some if you would like.
The best bit is that you can eat them too... and some of them are actually really yummy. I made my dog some parsley ones once, it made his breath smell better than usual... plus they tasted pretty great
i feed my kitty meat, cause thats the healthiest thing for her, and its her favorite thing to eat.
i believe my choice is the choice i made on my own. my kitty doesnt has a voice, so i just go by the things she likes and whats best for her. alotta animals like dogs and cats are mostly carnivorous animals, and dey arnt as developed enough as humans to fully welcome a vegan diet and health issues can come about as result. so be really really really careful when you do start feeding your animals vegan diets, because if its not done right it could be really harmful to the animal. LOTS of study must go into it.
because if your not feeding your animal properly its kinda cruelty to animals in itself really..
I buy my kitty meat because i know thats the healthiest thing i can give her,
i think a good idea with animal food, instead of completely cutting meat out of der diets, to make sure the meat ur buyin comes from reliable sources.
intil they fully research and produce supplements made especially for pets, im sticking to meat to be on the safe side with my kitten. shes not built the same as me and i think she'd suffer from a vegan diet, and i dont think she'd enjoy it much either.
she'd probs ditch the food and go hunt down native birds cos shes hungry which i DONT want her to do ):

dw kaytee I've done lots of research . I'm going to see how he (bob) goes for a few weeks and monitor him closely. If he isn't doing well on the vegan diet I'll switch him back to free range. If you want some info on vegan pet food you can go to http://veganpet.com.au/articles/
I think everyone should atleast be feeding their pet a good, free range pet food if they don't agree with the vegan idea - most dog food you find in the supermarket contains the animals that died BEFORE they got slaughtered by things such as cancer which will lead to massive health problems later on.

good job (:
i just no people who mean well but go and feed der animals what they eat and im like noooooo. they end up getting really sick. as long as you fully research it and observe your animal closely then its pretty much great if you can cut out meat in your animals diets.
i reckon but, if your animal isnt reacting to well, you should incorporate atleast some meat in there diets.
Matt, that's fantastic you're putting Bob on Veganpet! I know of some dogs who do really well on it and it's more than healthy, than it's counterpart! ;D I'm sure he'll love it!
