I am so, so, so sorry about your loss Belinda, I can't even imagine how heartbroken you must be. You can tell by the photos of Kransky and all the effort you put into his transit and collecting his body that he was a cherished pet.
I have two girls myself and am going to Europe for a while in August to visit my brother. Just last night we were discussing me moving over there with him, and I said "But what about the girls? I wont go without them", and his reply was "It's easy enough to transport them."
After hearing your tragic story I definitely wont even consider risking it!
Once again, I'm so very sorry about your loss.
Firstly,
My mother breeds bulldogs so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to this particular subject.
It was not the airlines fault for the frenchie dying.
bulldogs have severe breathing problems when it comes to the heat. Unfortunatly some people may not think of this but, putting a dog prone to heat stress on a sydney plane in the middle of summer is going to end in unfortunate circumstances.
I believe both the airline and the breeder are at fault as the airline should not have accepted to take the dog on in these circumstances and the owner should of looked more into it before putting the dog on the plane.
Woah, what? When did breeders come into this? I didn't get that at all from the blogspot? Forgive me if I missed it but I thought that they were just the heartbroken caregivers of their Kransky.
Also, just because your mother is pushing more and more animals out into a world where their is an abundance of animals already needing homes for profit, does not make someone else residing with them an expert. I think they would know their own dog better than a stranger would. Please show some respect for their feelings and Kransky.
Belinda McClory and Jon Hewitt - I feel sick that your Kransky had to endure such a horrible death and I can't even imagine the pain that you much be experiencing. Take this as far as you can so that others aren't killed under the same cirumstances. Those responsible should have to face the consequences.

I was not calling myself an expert, merely saying I know what I'm talking about when it comes to bulldogs. And btw, I'd pick my mother to by a pet from over a pet shop any day, but that's just me. It's not my fault what my mother does, so please don't drag your thoughts on animal breeders into this.
I sympathise, yes, but I personally do not believe it is the airlines fault, nor is it the breeders. (if it is a breeder)
All bulldogs have breathing problems when it comes to heat, all I was saying is people need to be ALOT more careful when it comes to putting animals on planes during summer.
I apologise if my opinion seemed snipey or harsh in any way, did not mean for it to be recieved that way.

and when you're paying that much to transport a pet, you think they wouldn't get thrown in with carriage and actually taken proper care of regardless of the breed.
Pet shops were never mentioned. When welcoming a pet into the family they do not have to be 'all shiny & new'. If you are after a particular breed, there are specialist rescue groups. There will always be a myriad of animals who are deemed apparently undeserving of life because someone chose a dog from a backyard breeder or petshop over the pound or shelter. There just isn't a need to make dogs go through the torment of having a litter only to have to give them up. But that is an entirely different issue.
The duty of care of Kransky was placed with the company who were going to be transporting him overseas. The carers had done all that they could seeking referrals and ensuring that their beloved pet would receive the utmost quality of care on his journey. The time of the year has no bearing. The company should have ensured that Kransky was comfortable. It would be like recommending that no person travel during the summer because there is no air conditioning on the plane. That would be ludicrous. Obviously it was expected that Kransky would be comfortable temperature wise for his entire journey and the quality of care is what Belinda & Jon paid a substantial amount of money for.
Not only does their need to be one hell of a public apology to Belinda & Jon but I also believe there needs to be compensation for the suffering that they have had to endure. Losing their dog of 6 years in such a horrible way - through no fault of their own - in unimaginable.

This made me sick to read. Not only have they lost their baby on the worst possible way, but now some teenager whose mother is contributing to the problem is calling them stupid?
