UGH! I can't believe it! How could anyone think it's cool or cute to own one of those poor, dying animals? It is nice to read about people buying them so they can free them.... but in the end, financing them is promoting them and telling them that they accept the treatment of these animals.
But I wouldn't be able to help myself, I'd have to buy as many as I could afford and free them all. Poor things. If they're sealed in the bag does that mean they can't even eat?

Apparently the water has nutrients in it.... according to one of the consumers, they can survive up to a month in it, DOUBTFUL!
If I were in China and came across one of these vendors I'd offer them money to close up shop and NEVER sell those animals again!
That's absolutely disgusting, and to think things couldn't get any worse... How could anyone keep something like that??! ...knowing it's going to die, knowing it could have a better life, knowing it is a living, breathing, feeling being that has the will to live.
I just don't understand it.
It's China, you can't expect much more unfortunately.
Unfortunately it's not just China.
It revolts me also, but sadly I don't think it's any more heinous than things done to animals in other cultures / countries. Changing the perception of animals as inert, soul-less chattel that feel no pain, is a start though.
That is so horrible! I think Asian counties like China have to be some of my least favourite countries, just for that reason! I'd just buy all the key rings and set them free! Poor things, gee, Humans really get on my nerves!
That is really, really upsetting! I couldn't bring myself to buy any to release them because as mentioned, it would just encourage trade... but I'd be really tempted to steal them all and leg it as fast as I could if I thought I could get away with it!
