Do you think it's a bit unfair to write off not one single but many different Asian cultures?

There are a lot of people in all different cultures who perpetrate animal cruelty, and likewise there are people everywhere who are fighting animal cruelty.  It's not *ever* black and white and, quite frankly, your comment reeks of unnecessary discrimination.

I think you will find Chinese buddhist monks are all vegetarian.. Dont be so quick to judge other races just from a stereotype.

I could easily say jews are such scabs and whiners and Australians are loud, lazy, meat pie lovin' beach bums

It does sound racist, but just look at the facts, compare the laws and compare the general feelings of Eastern countries to the West and it is worse there. I dont think its racist what he said.

As Ejay said, and I will elaborate, things like that happen all over the world. Do we blame one culture/country for the child sex trade while it happens everywhere? The same goes for rape, drugs, alcohol. It is racist to say that the asian culture is wholly responsible when really it is only a few people involved. Some people are so desperate for money that they are willing to try anything too. Instead of condemning all asians, why not do something about the animal cruelty?

He didn't say that though! And he said culture! Not individuals! The same thing happened to me once, just hearing too much more cruelty which happens there which wouldn't happen here - culture shock + combination of fedupness. Yes i just said fedupness tongue

When I visited Taiwan I saw big buckets of little turtles like those ones and goldfish in a big tub and you'd go take a little butterfly net and pick your own. There were also puppies being kept on raised wire floors under heat lamps. It was really sad sad
Not trying to make a racial generalisation here, just recounting events relevant to the story tongue

I feel the same way about those little turtles as I do when I drive past the slaughterhouse every day sad
