-Weve evolved to be on the top of the food chain

-God gave us dominion over all creatures

-Animals eat other animals in the wild, its just natural to eat meat

all of these things are null and void..And extremly STUPID arguments -.-

OMG! i had one of my teachers say 'plants have feelings!!! so why are you hurting them??!!'

I SOOOOOO had the chance to shut him down and say 'animals eat plants too... shouldn't we be minimising the suffering of those poor plants and animals by not eating them and only eating plants ourselves.' but i didn't. *angry*

Haha yes, a bit too much for that small grey squishy thing to comprehend!~

Even a large majority of people that follow buddhism eat meat and buddha was a vegetarian.

Even if it was right for us to eat meat, or we did have rights to the top of the food chain, that still does not excuse performing excruciating procedures on the animals or locking them in cages with no sunshine (also not to mention the blood and fear stained slaughter houses).

That quote is so very true (the bit you forget is "can they REASON" btw) and, as far as any compassionate person is concerned, should be the end of the matter. Therefore we must be dealing with savages. A depressing thought.
