Both disuss christian views on souls in animals a bit (and not entirely in support of my position). I am posting from my phone,  hence not providing a 50 line essay on the topic. Also this is rather off topic now, and I am happy to discuss religious views on animal welfare, but in a new topic.

First you need to work out where you stand. Are the school do anything illegal? If so get proof and expose what they are doing. However if you they are not breaking any laws then you don't really have anything concrete to stand on.

I mean, wouldn't sending the story into the paper, 'Christian school raising and slaughtering animals' be a bit dumb if at the same time the school tuck shop is selling a meat pie and the editor is eating a beef role?
Good point. Does anyone know if there are any symptoms of feeding hormones to chickens?

I'm in two minds about this.

1. its horrible that they are doing that to the animals but are the animals better of at your school than at a regular meat producing farm?

2. At least the students in your school are getting a real idea of how meat is raised

Obviously, i don't support eating meat at all... however if everyone in the school DOES it meat, is it better to eat the meat grown in the conditions at your school then elsewhere? because it sounds like your taking good care of them happy

Well thing is theyr geting way less a time to live and there whole 8 weeks of life is in darkness. Like - in the shed next to them there are layer chickens that a few times a week get to roam outside in the sunlight, while the meat chicks fight over food in there cold cell. tho i do agree its better than factory farms and things like that... but i still think its bad

I also go to Catzilla Kittypaw's school. We both do Agriculture at our school. Originally, I did it, thinking we would be working with animals in a positive manner. Even though we do that, other animals (Wether goats, cattle and pigs) are also sent off for meat. Sadly, our Principle just doesn't care... The good news of doing Ag is that it has pushed me further into wanting to go Vegetarian. Sadly, my parents still won't let me... :/

We both noticed that there is an awful smell in the Ag area, which comes from the chicken shed. Do you think that would be a symptom of hormones or anything like that?

Having raised chickens in small numbers through childhood and adolescence, as well as visiting a poultry farm, the stink could just be from profuse chicken crap.

Just an interesting (mostly historical) point. Traditionally christians haven't felt obliged to care one whit for the suffering of animals because (according to doctrine)  animals do not have souls. This attitude has somewhat changed in more recent times.
I'm a 'strong' Catholic, and went to a Catholic school- and those sorts of things were never done, the school never even taught that animals don't have souls. It was quite the opposite at our school actually.
AND also, a Christian website has on it "The Animals – Defenseless Victims
What do great minds say
about eating pieces of animal carcass
and about hunting?"

The Hidden Love of Jesus
For The Animals
Ancient Scriptures Have Shown:
The Early Christians Were Vegetarian
What about the cases of Jesus eating fish? Anti-vegetarian Christians put forward the argument that by being vegetarian you are suggesting that something Jesus did was wrong but also if Jesus was around in modern times you wouldn't approve of him eating fish.

Traditionally conservative Christians haven't had respect for animals, you can see this in cases such as the animal sacrifices of ole but also versus from the bible doctrine that the majority of Christians actively use as an argument to eat meat. Although some movements have accepted vegetarianism such as being encouraged in SDA, as a whole the majority of Christians believe God put animals here for us to eat and they support this with their doctrine, which isn't my opinion, but the truth.

It's not necessary pushed down new Christians throats or expressed by every sect but the general consensus is, we are above other animals since they aren't made in God's image and that's etched in Christian history/doctrine.
