On my first attempt I headed out to leaflet in Perth City (near the art gallery. Although at the start, it was a bit quiet, I still managed to hand out just over 100 leaflets.
My second time leafleting, I went into the heart of the city outside Wesley Mission. I managed to hand out approximately 120 leaflets. (To anyone who wants a good spot to leaflet, this is the best).
I also helped table at Garden City shopping centre, we collected around 700 signatures on the day! I also handed out heaps of leaflets and informed lots of people about the misery and suffering pigs endure on factory farms.
I have also added unleashed leaflets to the vegan starter packs that I have been sending out for the month (the packs are sent out all over Oz!)
Finally, this weekend I am tabling for AA at a Kisschasy gig in the city. I will post some photos of the event the next day.
Although not part of the State Street Team Challenge, I went leafleting last week for "Feed the World Week." It was about encouraging others to adopt a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle to combat, and collectively with the rest of the population, end world hunger. The literature I was using had some pretty crazy facts -- in the same area of land required to produce 20kgs of beef, 18,000kgs of potatoes can be grown. Quite sickening.
u know what guys. good on u all and its soo good to know that theres a voice out there for animals and you care about them. its a shame that some ppl cant open up their hearts to it.
Gah, I just remembered...
On the last day of last term (unsure if this still counts), I collected Live Export signatures at my school with a teacher who was pretty emotional after a presentation on animal abuse.
I didn't get permission for the place I wanted to go. And the other place attepmted to ring the guy and left a message. but guess what he didn't call back. So i might go hand some out at school...even thoough it's not officially part of the challenge anymore. Or on the train. Are you allowed to leaflet on trains?? anyone know?
