The only thing I worry about is that if people are just stopping to eat Cows/Pigs/Lambs etc...which, whilst great for those animals - if people then continue to eat chicken/fish....then 1 cow = many many chickens/fish
Yeah I do fear this too.
As the article says a drop in "red meat sales", not all meat sales. So I assume people may be eating more fish and chicken as a lot of people seem to not feel for them as much as other animals....

Slightly off topic, but I just went onto a cooking forum and saw a live export thread. One person wrote about how cruel and disgusting it was, and how he couldn't bear to watch the 4 corners program, but his latest recipe submitted to that website was marinated T-Bone steak. *Facepalm*

It seems not everyone is getting the message.

Killing and humanely don't really go together in a sentence. Also this is a wonderful start, but there is still such a looooooooong way to go. Most people that have seen this footage have gone "Okay wow, that is insane, thank god that sort of stuff doesn't happen in our own backyard" they may be put off their meals for a week or a month or a year, but I truly feel they need to be constantly reminded, because the brainwashing continues, and the numb minds continue. I have hope lately because there are a fair few ads on tv now, there are also segments on ACA etc showing that dairy isn;t all it is cut out to be, but I really pray that it sticks in minds, some minds are just too far gone. It makes me sad.

I try to have hope that we can all see the errors of our ways, but I am realistic, and perhaps a little pessimistic what with all the determined anger towards people trying to shine a light on this awful issue that IS animal cruelty. People still don;t see animals as beings. They see them as commodity, something to be used as we see fit without regard for the souls that are being abused.

Blinkers are still on. But I do hold on to hope.
