Not sure, but just on palm oil in general... always check the source of it. It's not always sourced from places which endanger animals.

They have an ad on tv at the mo which is raising awareness about palm oil and how it is hidden in food labels. I was really surprised they would have an ad like that...

mmm it pains me to say it but a recent discovery i made: If you are trying to avoid foods containing palm oil you will need to cross Oreos off your shopping list.

Apparently on average an Australian consumes 10kg of palm oil a year.

Palm oil is a nasty no no because the trees they obtain this oil from can only be grown in tropical environments which means a shitload of deforestation, destroying the habitat of the borneo and sumatran orangutans. A lot of it is illegal logging with an estimated clearing rate of something crazy like 300 football fields worth of trees every hour. they light fires to clear the forest at times to which produces a lot of carbon dioxide. Unfortunately its in pretty much EVERYTHING so its really hard to avoid.

A good website if your interested : www.palmoilaction.org.au/

Also there was a doco made on this issue called "The Burning Season". Its going to be shown on ABC in october, keep an eye out for it! happy

About 6 months ago, I was shocked to read that one of the ingredients in my (formerly!) favourite veggie juice, P&N , was PALM OIL!

I contacted the manufacturer, and here is the dismissive reply I received.

"Hi Pamela
Thank you for contacting P&N Beverages regarding our EJ Veggie Juice.
I am sorry you are not happy with the inclusion of Palm oil in the
ingredients. As a 100% Australian owned and operated company, it is our
aim to produce a reliable and innovative range of products that meet
strict quality standards. We were therefore concerned to receive your
complaint and genuinely appreciate your feedback.
It is greatly appreciated that you took the time out of your day to
contact us; your feedback and comments will be added to our Customer
Service Database for use by management in Product Development Meetings.
Kind Regards
Margaret Seckold
Customer Service"
